Your local outdoor adventure film festival! The 2nd Annual SkeenaWild film festival was an amazing success. Both the film and photo contest submissions were out of this world! Great job--we couldn't have done it without you. Thanks also to the amazing film festival sponsors for their great prizes and support.
The festival screened in 5 local communities this year: Terrace, Smithers, Kispiox, Prince Rupert, and Houston. The attendance at each event was amazing, far exceeding expectations. The festival drew over 350 spectators!
Trying out a new format, we asked the Skeena communities to help us out by sending us their films and photos in 1 of 3 Skeena-centric categories - Wild People, Wild Places, Wild Things . Wow, and did they ever! Both the film and photo contest submissions were out of this world! Great job--we couldn't have done it without you. A big thank you to the film festival sponsors for their great prizes and support. The diversity of films and the engagement of the audience through both the photo and film contest voting was outstanding!
Looking forward to this year’s 3rd Annual SkeenaWild Film Festival, we hope to grow it even bigger and better, engaging even more creative folks in the contests and reaching a wider audience! We plan on enabling interaction between audience and artists during the contest submission period, using a new, soon-to-be-launched SkeenaWild website and updated social media tools.
