Divide and Conquer: An Investigation of PNW LNG

Discourse Media conducted an independent investigation into the Pacific Northwest LNG project and the impact it’s having on the coastal community of Lax Kw’alaams.

In 2015 the community unanimously voted to reject a $1.2 billion benefit agreement with Petronas. However, earlier this year the Lax Kw’alaams band council flip-flopped and officially declared support for the project.

A community vote to support the project was never conducted, despite claims by Premier Christy Clark, which casts doubts on the B.C. Governments commitment to First Nation reconciliation.
