Pop Bottle Water-Cycling Terrarium
In this activity, students make and take home their own water-cycling terrarium. They will experience how an environment changes and grows as well as how water is conserved through the mini water cycle in their terrarium.

Soil Erosion Bottles
This experiment / demonstration activity shows how unprotected soil on the edge of a stream can be washed away by rain, causing damage to the stream and salmon eggs. It also reveals how vegetation dependent on soil to survive can help protect it.

In this activity, students will compete in groups to make the most effective filtration system for clarifying dirty water. While, this activity does not filter the water to reach drinking standards, it does help students explore the first stage of water treatment— filtration.

Michelle Stoney Colouring Pages
Michelle Stoney is a Gitxsan/Cree artist from northern BC who has generously offered to share her artwork with the public. These colouring pages include salmon, wildlife, plants, trees, cultural images, fish, insects, amphibians and seasonal images. Each Image is accompanied by the following message from the artist:

Gyotaku (guh-yo-tah-koo) is a traditional form of Japanese art that began over 100 years ago as a way for fishermen to keep a record of the size and species of the fish they caught. Gyotaku can also serve as a great way to teach children and adults about basic fish anatomy.
