Education Summer Watershed & Nature Science for Youth in the Skeena Camps.

  • SkeenaWild & Terrace Heritage Park Museum Youth Leadership & Conservation Film 5-Day Camp
    at Various Locations | Ages 12-18 yrs | July 15 – 19, 2024 | FREE | 20 Participants Max.  

    Drop off: 8:30 am – 9am at Heritage park Museum 
    Pick up: 3:30pm – 4 pm at Heritage Park Museum 

    Empower your teen to become a future conservation leader with SkeenaWild’s Youth Leadership & Conservation Camp. This immersive week-long program offers hands-on learning opportunities in water quality testing, plant ecology, ecosystem dynamics, and conservation career exploration, combined with teaching filming techniques to encourage the telling of stories.  Give your teen the chance to make a difference through active involvement in conservation projects.
  • UNBC Active Minds and SkeenaWild Full STEAM 5-Day Camp
    at UNBC | Ages 6-12 yrs | July 29 – August 2, 2024 | $300 for the 5 days | 20 Participants Max. 
    Engage your child’s curiosity with UNBC Active Mind and SkeenaWild Full STEAM camp, where science, technology, engineering, art, and math come together in exciting hands-on activities. This camp is a collaborative effort between UNBC and SkeenaWild ensuring a stimulating and educational experience for young minds aged 6-12 years.
  • Eco-Explorers 4-Day Camp
    at Ferry Island & Furlong | Ages 6-12 yrs | August 6 – 9, 2024 | $200 for the 4 days . 
    Immerse your child in the wonders of nature with Eco-Camp, featuring fun and engaging outdoor activities centred around environmental exploration and appreciation. Let your child connect with the natural world while having a blast in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Markets and Pop-Up Nature Science Events 
    at various Locations | Throughout Summer 2024| All Ages | FREE

    Join SkeenaWild’s environmental educators for free Pop-Up Nature Science Events and Markets suitable for all ages. Experience the wonders of nature firsthand through hands-on science activities at various locations in our community. Adult supervision ensures a safe and enjoyable learning experience for everyone.

    – July 20: Eco Pop-Up “BC Parks Day” Join us with BC Parks and Lakelse Watershed Steward Society for a free community event. This event is designed to be inclusive, welcoming everyone of all ages @ Lakelse – Furlong Beach from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. No pre-registration is required; simply turn up!

    – July 25: Eco Pop-Up “World of Curiosities – Explore the Skeena Watershed.”

    Learn about the Skeena Watershed, create your own watershed, and participate in salmon-related crafts, scavenger hunts, and more. This free event is aimed at ages 3 – 11, @ Lakelse Picnic Group Site, 10:30 am – 12:30pm; no pre-registration is required; simply turn up!
