SkeenaWild Welcomes Nathan Meakes as Assistant Director
Building a stronger future for salmon and the Skeena.
SkeenaWild Conservation Trust is pleased to announce Nathan Meakes as the new Assistant Director.
Nathan brings a lifelong commitment to conservation, a background in biology, and a deep passion for the Skeena watershed. Since 2015, he has been involved in fundraising, advocacy, and policy oversight on fisheries issues in the Skeena
“I’ve always been guided by the belief that healthy habitats, responsible management, and sound science are essential to the future of wild salmon”
Nathan Meakes, Assistant Director

As Assistant Director, Nathan will work closely with Executive Director Julia Hill Sorochan to support the organization’s strategic priorities and daily operations. His responsibilities will include helping to oversee program delivery across fisheries, habitat protection, science and research and education, and he will be instrumental in strengthening partnerships.

“We look forward to Nathan’s leadership in helping to grow the organization’s capacity and impact at a time when salmon and their habitats face unprecedented challenges. His experience and values align closely with SkeenaWild’s mission to defend and rebuild wild salmon populations and the ecosystems and communities that depend on them.”
