2024 Summer Education Programs

Education Summer Watershed & Nature Science for Youth in the Skeena Camps.

We’re gearing up for a busy summer and are finalizing the details of the camps we will be offering during summer 2024:

  • Eco-Camp at Ferry Island & Furlong with BC Parks (ages 5-11 yrs). Immerse your child in the wonders of nature with Eco-Camp, featuring fun and engaging outdoor activities centred around environmental exploration and appreciation. Let your child connect with the natural world while having a blast in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) Camp at UNBC (ages 5-11 yrs). Engage your child’s curiosity with UNBC Active Mind and SkeenaWild Full STEAM camp, where science, technology, engineering, art, and math come together in exciting hands-on activities. This camp is a collaborative effort between UNBC and SkeenaWild ensuring a stimulating and educational experience for young minds.

  • Youth Leadership & Conservation Camp at Furlong with BC Parks (ages 11-16 yrs). Empower your teen to become a future conservation leader with SkeenaWild’s Youth Leadership & Conservation Camp. This immersive week-long program offers hands-on learning opportunities in water quality testing, plant ecology, ecosystem dynamics, and conservation career exploration. Give your teen the chance to make a difference through active involvement in conservation projects.

  • (New) Watershed Explorer Camp – an outdoor adventure in various locations (ages 11-16 yrs). A two-week-long camp -one week English and one week of French immersion. Embark on an adventure with SkeenaWild’s Watershed Explorer Summer Camp, designed for curious minds aged 11 to 16. Dive into outdoor education with interpretive walks, stream surveys, nature science experiments, and interactive games, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for our natural environment.

  • Markets and Pop-Up Nature Science Events throughout the summer (all ages). Join SkeenaWild’s environmental educators for free Pop-Up Nature Science Events and Markets suitable for all ages. Experience the wonders of nature firsthand through hands-on science activities at various locations in our community. Adult supervision ensures a safe and enjoyable learning experience for everyone.
