To celebrate this year’s Earth Day, join SkeenaWild, Greater Terrace Beautification Society, City of Terrace and Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine to clean up our communities, trails and rivers on Sunday, April 21st, 2024!
The total amount of garbage taken to the transfer station on Earth Day, April 22 2023, was 5.5 tonnes – that’s the same weight as an elephant!
Can we beat it this year?
Come to George Little Park anytime between 12 noon and 4 p.m. to pick up your bags and gloves (or if you have your own, you don’t need to come to the park first).
Then head out into the community to clean up an area, and then bring your garbage back for disposal (we will have a garbage dumpster and metal recycling bin).
When you drop off your garbage, you will be entered into a draw for a chance to win some great prizes.
Plus, we will have kids’ activities, live music from Keenan Stella, a story walk by the Terrace Public Library, meet with a new initiative, Terrace Sustainability Hub, plus volunteers are given a free McDonald’s voucher.
